Willesley Hall in Derbyshire, England

Willesley Hall was the home of the Abney family since the 1400s. It was originally in Derbyshire, but is now in Leicestershire, England. This is a large and notable mansion that was the birth place of Sir Thomas Abney and Edward Abney in the early 1600's. The Abney family insisted that the owners of the manor have Abney added to their surname. Sir Charles Abney Hastings was the last person in the line of the Abney family to inherit the home. The Willesley Church is near by and it dates for the 14th century.  The parish register was started in 1677. There is also a lake and a golf course nearby.

  2. Where did you get this image? I would love a quality copy to give to my mother-in-law. She is an Abney descendant.
